Christmas Season Cleaning

Christmas Season Cleaning

Fall is ending, Thanksgiving is over, and it is time to start preparing for the Christmas season! What is the best way to prepare? What are some helpful cleaning tips for Christmas?

Depending on your family, the Christmas season may have started for Thanksgiving. For my family, we wait until after Thanksgiving to put our Christmas stuff up. So this is the perfect time to deep clean and get ready for Christmas.

Declutter and Organize

First things first, is to declutter and move/put away anything that doesn’t need to stay out for the Christmas season. This includes all fall and Halloween decorations. Once everything is decluttered, don’t forget to put everything away and organize it. Organizing all of your decorations now will make next year’s decorating easier.

Cleaning Surfaces

Now that things are decluttered and organized, clean the surfaces. This will ensure that everything is cleaned before new decorations are set up. Don’t forget, when cleaning, start at the bottom and work your way down. this will ensure that all of the dust and dirt is properly cleaned, instead of spreading over surfaces that have already been cleaned.

Move Furniture and Clean Floors

To get any leftover dust bunnies, move all of your furniture, and sweep and mop your floors. This is also a really great time to get your carpets cleaned. Whether professionally or manually, having your carpets scrubbed and cleaned will be perfect to prepare for the Christmas season.

Deep Clean Bathrooms

The Christmas season is a great time to clean the toilet, bathtub, shower, sink, and floors. To top off the bathroom, get a Christmas candle to make it smell nice.

Deep Clean Guest Bedrooms

The Christmas season almost always brings guests. This is a great time to prepare for any guests coming your way. This will include dusting, moving furniture, cleaning floors, and making sure that the bed and bathroom  are ready.

Deep Clean Kitchen

During the Christmas season, my kitchen is a constant mess. Preparing my kitchen for the Christmas season is the perfect way for me to clean things up, restart, and get ready for the yummy Christmas treats!

Decorate!

Now for the fun part! Turn on a Christmas movie, or some Christmas music, and start decorating. Enjoy this time with your friends and family to celebrate this Christmas season.
