Have you ever gotten a new pet and remembered how hard it was the last time to potty train a new pet? I have been in this situation too many times. It can be so difficult to get the new pet to start going outside, but it can be even more strenuous to get those awful pet odors out of the carpet. Why is it so hard to keep your carpets clean from pet odors?
Well, hopefully this post will help, and you’ll want to keep that new puppy.
When I was in junior high, my family had cat. His name was Smokey. Smokey was a dark gray color. He was a lot smaller than normal cats in the neighborhood, and he was the sweetest cat I had ever met. The only thing I hated about that cat was the fact he would pee in my closet every day. Oh, I hated it. Anyone who has at least one cat, knows how nasty that smell is, and it NEVER seems to go away!
Why is it so hard to get pet odor out of carpet?
Pet odor can be difficult just because of the smell. Animal urine is high in nitrogen which can have a very strong ammonia smell. Cat urine on the other hand, does not contain as much nitrogen. Cat urine, when broken up, is found to have the same molecules as in skunk spray.
Another reason for the difficulty depends on the time frame. It is much easier to remove pet stains and odors when acting quickly, but sometimes life happens. The new puppy just happens to pee on your new carpet right after you leave your house.
As soon as the urine is deposited from your pet and onto the carpet, the carpet and everything underneath it is soaking up the urine. (I know, it’s super gross to think about.) After a few hours of the newly found puddle sitting in the middle of your carpet, the water from the urine starts to evaporate and urine crystals being to form and stick to the carpet. (You’re probably going to want to clean every inch of your carpet now.) Unless you see the specific stain, you aren’t going to know that anything happened and your carpet will stink.
Now, you what happens when the pet puddle is left for a while, but why does it still stink after you cleaned the stain?
Imagine you came home, and found the brand new puddle on the carpet. You get some paper towels, soak everything up, and put cleaner on it. The carpet is then left to dry. The only problem is, even though you thought you soaked everything up there is a high chance that there is still some urine left in the carpet. Remember those crystals we talked about? (I know, so gross.) Well, because of that little spot that was missed, those crystals will still form. As a result of those crystals, animals can still smell where they peed and they will pee there again!
Don’t get me wrong, animals are wonderful to have, but it can be hard to keep up with their messes. That is why CBM Pros is perfect for cleaning your carpets, and getting those stubborn pet odors and stains out of your carpet.
