Fun Fall Activities

It’s the middle of September, the temperature is dropping, and fall is right around the corner! Here is a list of fun fall activities for you and your family!

My favorite time of year is when I can wear sweatpants and sweatshirts, drink hot chocolate, watch Halloween movies, and see the leaves changing colors. Unfortunately, we aren’t there yet, but we are so close! In Northern Utah, the temperature is dropping down to mid 80s or low 70s! Before it gets too close, check out this list of fun fall activities for everyone to start planning!

25 Fun Fall Activities

  1. Go to a pumpkin patch – There is something special about going to a pumpkin patch with your friends or family and finding the best pumpkin.
  2. Make a Jack-O-Lantern – Take the best pumpkin that your picked and start carving! Show off your carving skills by having a pumpkin carving contest.
  3. Go on a hike – Take advantage of the fall colors and leaves and walk around in nature!
  4. Take a drive – If you’re not keen on hiking, go for a drive to see the fall leaves! (Canyons are the best places to see lots of fall colors!)
  5. Get family picture taken – This is another great way to take advantage of the beautiful colors.
  6. Visit an apple orchard- This is a great way to get fresh fruits and veggies just in time for winter.
  7. Make caramel apples – Take those perfect apples you bought from the apple orchard and make a tasty treat!
  8. Have a movie night – Pick your favorite sweatpants, grab a blanket, your favorite snack/drink, and watch Halloween movies!
  9. Watch Hocus Pocus – This is a Halloween movie must in my house.
  10. Try a new soup recipe – With the weather getting colder, this is a great time to warm up with a hot bowl of soup!
  11. Try some new pumpkin recipes – Pumpkin is my favorite! Bake some pumpkin cookies or pumpkin bread with your family.
  12. Make a fall craft – Use your crafting skills and create a cute fall decoration,
  13. Decorate – One of my favorite things to do is decorate! Especially during fall.
  14. Plan your Halloween costume – Create or buy the best costumes for you and your family.
  15. Go trick-or-treating – This is a great tradition for kids to enjoy showing off their costumes and getting candy.
  16. Build a bonfire – I love having a fire, but during the fall when you’re a little cold is just perfect!
  17. Make s’mores – With that bonfire, make s’mores for you and your family to enjoy!
  18. Watch football – For my husband, fall is not fall without football! Have some friends over, make some snacks, and enjoy a good football game.
  19. Go to a haunted house/ corn maze – Enjoy a spooky night with friends at a haunted house or haunted corn maze.
  20. Make a pie – A classic, but delicious fall dessert.
  21. Have Thanksgiving dinner – Spend time with family and eat the best turkey, rolls, and mashed potatoes ever! (Save room for pie!)
  22. Make a gratitude list – Thanksgiving is the perfect time to remember the things you have and to be grateful.
  23.  Drink hot chocolate / apple cider – Try some new recipes and warm up!
  24. Jump in a leaf pile – Gather all of the beautiful fall leaves in a big pile and take turns jumping in!
  25. Light a scented candle – Pick your favorite fall scent and leave your house smelling great!
