New Year’s Resolution Ideas

Christmas has come and gone, and the new year is just around the corner. What New Year’s Resolutions do you have for 2022?

Every year I make a list of New Year Resolutions and end up not finishing them. So, I decided to make a list of resolutions that I have never done before. To help you make a list of resolutions, I have come up with 20 resolution ideas.

New Year’s Resolution Ideas

  • Build a better budget- Create a list of what you want to save up for, and make a budget based on your income, needs, wants, and savings.
  • Cook a new recipe every week – These can be as simple, or as elaborate as you would like.
  • Create a meal plan – Along with cooking a new recipe every week, create a meal plan that works for you and your family.
  • Read more books – Make a list of books that you want to read, and those that friends or family suggest.
  • Make a cleaning schedule – Make a list of chores to do every day of the week, and stick to it. Make it nice and visible for other people to see as well.
  • Drink more water – Pick out a new water bottle, and make it a goal everyday to drink a certain amount of water. There are so many benefits to drinking enough water every day.
  • Start a new hobby – Find something that interests you and start a new hobby. Take some time to find things that you enjoy and that relax you.
  • Take a new class – Whether it has something to do with your new hobby, or something for your degree in school. Learn something new.
  • Buy a plant – There is something nice about having greenery in your home.
  • Take the stairs – When possible, take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. It may be something small, but small things still make you feel better.
  • Take a vacation – Everyone could use a vacation every once in a while. Whether that is 30 minutes away from home, or a 6 hour flight, take some time with your friends and loved ones and enjoy it.
  • Volunteer – Take the time to help those in need.
  • Workout – Whether you set an hour aside to workout, or you opt to take the stairs at work, take the time to help your body.
  • Buy something new – Find something that fits you, and you love and buy it. Having something new makes you feel better.
  • Participate in Family History – Learn something about your ancestors, and share that with your family.
  • Distribute chores – It’s exhausting thinking about all of the chores that you have to finish, but you feel you don’t have the time for. Ask other people to help you.
  • Place things where they belong – Putting things where they should be, will help keep your home clutter free.
  • Try a new look – Whether that is cutting or dying your hair, or trying new makeup. Try something new.
  • Play positive and happy music – Playing happy music make you happier throughout the day.
  • Keep a journal – Write about your day and the things that have happened.
